William Leitner
William A. Leitner III, Executive Vice-President-Retail, is responsible for directing the Company's retail division including leasing, development and operations. Mr. Leitner joined the Colonial in September 2000. He manages a team of professionals who are responsible for sourcing new development and redevelopment opportunities, managing and leasing existing properties, and acquiring community and lifestyle center assets. He is also responsible for procuring new development partner relationships.
Prior to joining Colonial Properties Trust, Mr. Leitner held management positions with various mortgage firms and commercial banks, including Riggs Bank of Washington, D.C and Collateral Mortgage. Most recently Mr. Leitner was managing director of AmSouth Bank's Real Estate Capital Markets Group. Mr. Leitner received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington & Lee University and a Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Alabama School of Law.
