Multifamily Development
The Multifamily Division is experienced in the process of developing land into profitable and award-winning communities. Colonial Properties Trust has invested more than $500 Million in multifamily development since the late 1990's, assembling a large portfolio of quality multifamily properties across the sunbelt states. In evaluating potential multifamily development sites, the Multifamily Division generally seeks infill sites of at least 6 acres and suburban sites of at least 20 acres. The Multifamily Division can also purchase larger tracts of both infill and suburban land, up to 400 acres, by teaming up with other Colonial Properties Trust disciplines including Retail, Office, Mixed Use and For Sale, creating unique mixed use developments.
